Meet Anthony

Park Rapids, Minnesota

I grew up on a lake outside of Park Rapids, Minnesota where learned to nordic ski when I was two years old. My father, mother, older brother and I spent a substantial amount of time outside during our free time. Water sports, cycling and nordic skiing far outweighed time in front of the TV. We went on our first ski vacation to Big Sky, Montana when I was 12 years old and was hooked on the mountains ever since.

Door-to-Door Sales

While attending college at the University of Minnesota Duluth, I took on a summer job as a book salesman with the Southwestern Company. After a one-week intensive sales training in Nashville, Tennessee, I relocated to Salem, Ohio where I sold over $10,000 of educational products in one summer while working 80 hour workweeks and making amazing connections to last a lifetime. It was truly the most challenging, character-building and life-changing experience of my life and prepared me for a future of entrepreneurship.

Crested Butte, Colorado

Crested Butte, Colorado

After two years of college at the University of Minnesota Duluth, I packed up the truck and headed out west with hopes to acquire residency in the state of Colorado, finish school and, of course, ski as much as possible! My travels took me to Boulder, Summit County and eventually Crested Butte where I planted my stake for good. I first got a job as a ski instructor at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and eventually worked in hospitality for the next few years as a concierge while finishing a business degree at Western Colorado University. I was very fortunate to find an accredited college that was not only 30 miles from a ski resort, but also offered a wonderful business school with a business degree that emphasized entrepreneurship.

CB Specialty Services & CB LIMO

In 2008, immediately after graduating college, I started my own company called CB Specialty Services. It was an independent concierge service that offered vacation planning, event planning, grocery delivery and transportation. Through CB Specialty Services, I organized many custom vacation itineraries, planned a number of weddings and coordinated ski groups and business conferences. Year after year, the transportation division grew immensely and I eventually separated and re-branded it as CB LIMO. In the later years of business, CB LIMO became the premier transportation service of Crested Butte and had contracts to work with the nicest hotels and lodging companies in the area. We picked up the rich and famous off of private jets and drove people as far as Denver, over 4 hours away. In 2017, I sold CB Specialty Services as a concierge and delivery service to a former employee. A year later, in 2018, I sold CB LIMO to a local investor and wiped my hands of the business completely.

And so on...

Alongside of skiing, mountain biking and starting businesses, I’m blessed to have found the woman of my dreams, Laura Gutierrez. Laura and I met for the first time in Madrid, Spain in 2003. Living thousands of miles away, we kept in touch throughout the years and eventually came back together in 2014 and were married in 2016. Laura is a native of Venezuela and has an extensive history of working in the corporate world, traveling and recreating. Together we love to ski, hike, bike, travel, visit museums and spend time with family. Together we have traveled to Venezuela, Spain, England, Bali, Mexico and the British Virgin Islands and have only scratched the surface.  Laura and I gave birth a beautiful little girl in February of 2020 and named our little princess Olivia.
